Freedom Life Avery
Freedom Life Avery is a faith-based nonprofit grounded in values of restoration and accountability. We provide inclusive, evidence-informed support to justice-involved people that helps them achieve long-term stability. Freedom Life Avery is committed to partnering with our community to provide aid and support that helps our justice-involved neighbors break the cycles of their past and create new opportunities for a life filled with hope.
High Country Community Health
High Country Community Health (HCCH) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) whose mission is to provide high-quality, affordable, and integrated medical, dental, behavioral, and preventive health services to all people in the communities we serve regardless of their ability to pay. HCCH’s overarching goal is to improve health equity by addressing the full spectrum of physical, behavioral, and social determinants of health in the rural and medically underserved region of Western North Carolina.
Marjorie Williams Academy
Williams Academy is a public K-12 charter school located in Crossnore, NC. We are Avery County’s only public charter school. At Williams Academy we create endless opportunities for your child to become their best. We inspire our students to excel academically and think creatively to reach their full potential. Our dedicated teachers help children apply critical thinking skills to solve real-world problems.
The Mediation & Restorative Justice Center
MRJC is a non-profit that has provided restorative services and programs to NW North Carolina since 1993. Services include mediation, diversion programs for both youth and adults, treatment court, and peer-led substance-use recovery programming. The Avery RV is part of MRJC’s peer-led recovery community center, Homestead Recovery Center.
Broken Wheel Ministries
We are a faith-based organization, founded by veterans and first responders, that assist with maintaining or gaining transportation for individuals in need. For individuals that meet the criteria we have a vehicle repair program and a car donation program. We also offer educational opportunities that help youth and individuals wanting to learn the automotive trade.
Western Youth Network
WYN’s mission is to transform our High Country community by nurturing and empowering our children so that they live healthy, engaged and fulfilled lives. WYN serves youth & families in Avery county though mentoring; middle school afterschool & summer programs; and community health initiatives that seek to create and foster opportunities that build resiliencies and support families’ ability to thrive.
