LiveWell Avery Hosts Dinner & Dialogue at Avery County Library

LiveWell Avery recently hosted its Dinner & Dialogue event focused on community input regarding addiction, recovery, and mental health support in Avery County. Held at the Avery County Library, the evening brought together families, service providers, community leaders, and residents for an open discussion about local resources and ongoing needs. The event began with a meet-and-greet hour, allowing attendees to connect with nonprofit organizations and learn more about services currently available in the county. Dinner followed, provided by Kayes By The River, along with guided conversation around challenges, gaps in services, and opportunities for improvement. “Dinner & Dialogue demonstrated the strength of our community when people come together with honesty, compassion, and a shared commitment to solutions,” said Avery County Opioid Settlement Coordinator Sarah Price. Participants shared feedback about what is working well and where additional support may be needed. Local providers highlighted existing programs, and attendees discussed ways to improve awareness and access to services. “We heard powerful stories, identified meaningful gaps, and lifted up the resources that are already making a difference,” Price added. “Most importantly, the conversation does not end here. This event reaffirmed that by listening to one another and working together, we can build a stronger, healthier future for everyone impacted by addiction, recovery, and mental health challenges.” LiveWell Avery plans to continue hosting community conversations and working with partners across Avery County to strengthen support systems for residents. LiveWell Avery is also excited to launch its new website www.livewellavery.org along with new social media pages in the coming days to help the community stay informed and connected.
